Great to see the excitement of her signing come through on the pitch. My Bowie was upset Kearns had left, and I said Olivia will be a new favourite. Along with Fuka Nagano, which you mention, there's some real talent.

With mostly the same players as last year I feel we will have greater understanding and keep up the pressure for a CL place. Although I fear it may be tougher this year.

And, yes, gotta love a snappy stadium name.

I was really surprised Kearns left but fair play to her, she wasn't starting that often so left her hometown club. I was sad about Koivisto going too, I think she's been the most consistent player since I started following the team.

I think fourth will be the absolute limit of their realistic ambitions. From what we've seen (and it's early days) it feels like they might have to take a slight step back this season.

Love the Women's team as much as i do the Men's just not able to catch the matches. Lovely stuff Andrew. Do you think you can get them more on SOTM? It'd be lovely!

Oooh, yeah. Those numbers are interesting. I didn’t ever play the game, so I might have guessed that her movement was a bigger part of it. But even I could sense that it was “a real hit”! Thanks

Love the stat of seeing how a player changes the xG with her movement and skill!

To clarify, the xG change I mentioned related to the placement of her shot after she had hit it, rather than her movement.

But you raise a good point. A shot from where Smith first touches the ball near the edge of the box is probably 0.10 expected goals. She then looks like she'll hit it from a (roughly) 0.11 region, only to then come back inside for 0.17. A fabulous use of space and movement.
